NEW Academy (Operating two (2) LAUSD-authorized charter schools) Consideration of the level of support for the material revision of the two (2) NEW Academy, LAUSD-authorized charter schools, to reduce the number of board members from 9 to 5. The two (2) NEW Academy LAUSD-authorized charter schools combined serve 809 students in grades TK-5 in Board Districts 2 and 3 in Regions East and North. The proposed change would go into effect upon approval by the LAUSD Board of Education, contingent upon NEW Academy Schools meeting all applicable requirements.
