Approve the renewal petition for Extera Public School No. 2 ("Charter School"), a Start-Up Independent charter school, located in Board District 2 and Region East, for five (5) years, beginning July 1, 2026 until June 30, 2031, to serve up to 245 students in grades TK-5 in each year of the charter term. The school is requesting to reduce enrollment capacity from 432 to 245 students to align with its enrollment projections based on its enrollment trends in the current term. The recommendation for approval is based on the information set forth in the attached Staff Assessment and Recommendation Report.

Background:
Extera Public School No. 2 is a TK-5 school currently serving 108 students on a District Prop. 39 co-location at 4112 E. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA, 90023 in Board District 2 and Region East. Extera Public School No. 2 was originally approved by the LAUSD Board of Education on January 15, 2013. On December 5, 2017, the charter school was renewed for a five-year term to serve 432 students in grades TK-5. Pursuant to Education Code section 47607.4, all charter schools whose term expires on or between January 1, 2022, and June 30, 2025, inclusive, shall have their term extended by two years, and all charter schools whose term expires on or between January 1, 2024, and June 30, 2027, inclusive, shall have their term extended by one additional year.
