Body
Background:
Prior to the establishment of the Office of Grants Administration, the District’s approach to grant management was decentralized with multiple departments and schools independently identifying and pursuing supplemental funding for their respective areas when they have available resources to do so.

Pursuant to Board Report No. 160-07/08 and No. 248-17/18, and a December 2012 Board Resolution, the Superintendent and/or their designee are authorized to sign on behalf of the Board of Education (Board) grant applications, amendments, and related correspondence, such as letters of support, prior to submission. Upon receipt of the grant, an action item is to be presented to the Board for ratification. Various other previously issued delegations granted authority to certain Divisions and Offices to accept grant funds and/or to execute grant amendments on behalf of the Board.

Expected Outcomes:
Approval of these items will allow the resources and services provided by these non-formula grants to be awarded to the Los Angeles Unified School District and schools that support Board policies and goals.
