Action Proposed:
Approve the renewal petition for Scholarship Prep – South Bay (“Charter School”), a Start-Up Independent charter school, with a benchmark in the area of academics (ELPI), located in Board District 7 and Region South, for a term of five (5) years, beginning July 1, 2027, until June 30, 2032, to serve up to 420 students in grades TK-8 in each year of the charter term. The District is recommending approval of an increase of the enrollment capacity from 375 students to 420 students based on an assessment of Charter School’s record of performance. The recommendation for approval is based on the information set forth in the attached Staff Assessment and Recommendation Report.

Scholarship Prep – South Bay is a TK-8 school currently serving 420 students on a private facility at 24910 South Avalon Boulevard, Wilmington, CA, 90744 in Board District 7 and Region South. Scholarship Prep – South Bay was originally approved by the LAUSD Board of Education on November 27, 2018.
