Approve the renewal petition for ISANA Palmati Academy (“Charter School”), a Start-Up Independent charter school, with a benchmark in the area of academic engagement (Chronic Absenteeism) located in Board District 6 and Region North, for a term of five (5) years, beginning July 1, 2027 until June 30, 2032, to serve up to 490 students in grades TK-8 in each year of the charter term. The recommendation for approval is based on the information set forth in the attached Staff Assessment and Recommendation Report.

ISANA Palmati Academy is a TK-8 span school currently serving 340 students on two District sites Roy Romer Middle School at 6501 Laurel Canyon Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA, 91606 and Glenwood Elementary School at 8001 Ledge Avenue, Sun Valley, CA, 91352 through Proposition 39 in Board District 6 and Region North. ISANA Palmati Academy was originally approved by the LAUSD Board of Education on June 15, 2010. On November 24, 2020, the charter school was renewed for a five-year term to serve 490 students in grades TK-8.
