Background:
On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Los Angeles Senior High School and STEAM Magnet initiated a campus-wide lockdown at approximately 8:15 a.m., prior to the start of the instructional day, in response to reports of a possible weapon on campus. The school immediately implemented established emergency procedures and notified the Los Angeles School Police Department (LASPD), the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), and Region West Operations. Law enforcement conducted a comprehensive search of the campus while the school remained in lockdown. Throughout the incident, students were kept under the direct supervision of certificated and classified staff.
