Approve the renewal petition for Girls Athletic Leadership School Los Angeles (“Charter School”), a Start-Up Independent charter school, with a benchmark in the area of academics (Math for English Learners), located in Board District 6 and Region North, for a term of five (5) years, beginning July 1, 2027, until June 30, 2032, to serve up to 330 students in grades 6-8 in each year of the charter term. The recommendation for approval is based on the information set forth in the attached Staff Assessment and Recommendation Report.

Girls Athletic Leadership School Los Angeles is a 6-8 school currently serving 199 students on a private facility at 14200 Runnymede Street, Van Nuys, CA, 91405, in Board District 6 and Region North. Girls Athletic Leadership School Los Angeles was originally approved by the LAUSD Board of Education on April 14, 2015. On November 24, 2020, the charter school was renewed for a five-year term to serve 330 students in grades 6-8.
